Ancient City of Troy

It's located south western Çanakkale city. You can reach it by car with a half our. The entrance fee was 50 TL or you can buy a annual pass that allow you to enter museums across Turkey by 60 TL.

I thought we would only see a horse. I didn't realize there were 10 cities buried on top of each other, having been excavated from the 1800s. It is worth it to have a guide to go here with you, so you understand the history.

Read the Iliad or have a good idea about the Homeric legend before visiting the site and use your imagination based on the fable as you visit the ancient site for a much more rewarding time at the ruins.

Certainly an archaeologst delight, but not the place for simple visual consumptions. The leftover stones of ancient times need to be explained and whilst every place has a board, a guide is recommended.

Wonderful place. Well preserved. Plenty of parking space for 10 lira. Entry fee is 50 liras. Has clean washrooms. Sitting area. Suitable for family and with little children. Open on saturday
