TAKE MORE TIME TO SEE THE MERZIFON
Eyüp Sabri Kartal (11/23/2019)
It is one of the most spiritual mosques of Merzifon. It was built by Çelebi Sultan Mehmet. Çelebi Sultan Mehmet is the most magnificent of the Ottoman sultans and a sultan identified with merzifon. Çelebi Sultan Mehmet built a more beautiful mosque than Dimotika, which is more beautiful than this mosque.

A work that stands out with its woodwork and minaret, symbolizing the city with its clock tower in the center of the city. You can have a nice time by drinking your tea in front of the beauty of these historical monuments in the tea garden right in front of it. The lighting of the park also made the area beautiful at night. The mosque was built by Sultan Murat II in H.830 AD 1426. The mosque, located in the south of Çelebi Mehmet Madrasah on Cumhuriyet Street, has a longitudinal rectangular plan and a wooden ceiling. The upper cover of the longitudinal rectangular mosque is carried by wooden poles placed in two rows in the interior. Thick wooden beams on the pillars divide the whole ceiling into three bays perpendicular to the altar. The mosque has three gates, one in the north and the other in the east and west. The main gate is to the north and the gates to the east and west were opened later. Two wings, which are beautiful examples of wood carving, are attached to the east door. A single line of intricate thuluth construction inscription is seen on the main door. While the entire ceiling of the mosque was decorated with hand-carved ornaments, only a little decoration remained on the old beams, as the ceiling was replaced in repairs. The semi-cylindrical mihrab niche starts 50 cm above the ground and the upper part becomes narrower by gradual muqarnas. The entire periphery of the mihrab is surrounded by two inscription borders (Ayet-el Kürsi), one narrow and the other wide. The last congregation place was added later.

This mosque was built by Sultan II. It was built in 1426 by Murat and it is in the center of our merzifon with its wooden workmanship and historical appearance and it reflects a historical beauty along with Çelebi sultan madrasa and clock tower. .......... The crafting of this mosque is different compared to other mosques. ceilings and poles are also completely used in wood workmanship .........
