Kızkayası Canyon is located in Çaybaşı Village in the Merzifon district of Amasya. The road passing through the village has puddles that are suitable for use, but it can be passed by normal vehicle. I do not recommend that there is a second road, the road is broken and one side faces the canyon and the abyss. In this canyon, clear water comes out of the rocks, there are very old trees, probably a mehlep tree, at the end of the canyon there are 2 historical stone mills and a cut stone bridge from the Roman period. Kızkayası, which gives its name to the canyon, is a huge rock at the beginning of the canyon, there is a road in the middle of the valley that leads to the top of the secret tunnel, it can be a little dangerous. It is thought that it was used as a dam in the period of calli or hittites in the years before Christ, it may have been used in the Roman period, its old name is löşdüğün. There are caves and corridors of various sizes around the canyon. If research is done in the rocks where the water comes out, very large underground caves can be found in the rocks.

Merzifon is a canyon with an old historical background in Çaybaşı village. The clear waters are clean and quiet seating area. Near one of the ideal places for barbecue and picnic. There are unique landscapes where we can go hiking. I advise.

Kızkayası Canyon Merzifon - AMASYA Kızkayası Canyon between Çaybaşı and Balgöze villages of Merzifon. It is thought that the Amazons lived between 2000-1500 BC. At the entrance there is a temple where the Amoson sacrifices a sacrifice. There are rock tombs on the south side of the temple. At the exit there is a bridge belonging to the East Roman period. There are 2 old mills and an old lime quarry that are not used next door. The canyon is about 2 Km. long. Distance to Merzifon is 18 Km.
