Museum of Shadow Puppet

Interesting exhibit about shadow puppetry. No entrance fee required. The lady at the front counter told me that only on Saturdays are floors 2 and 3 open, because there will be performances then. Other days only the first and fourth floors are open to the public.

It's a unique museum showing the dying art of shahow puppetry. Quite easy to get to, with carpark and is small enough to cover everything within an hour. Very interesting and nice display of the puppets as well as informative short films of actual shows and the masters.

The transportation is convenient. It only takes 5 minutes to walk from the MRT station. The guide's explanation is very detailed. It is a good place to learn about Taiwanese culture.

Take the MRT to Nangangshan Station, within walking distance, the shadow puppet museum is not big, it is recommended to check the event first, and watch a shadow puppet show (dubbed in Taiwanese), which is more worthwhile, next to the Okayama Library/Cultural Center
