Hsinchu Moat

My wife and I visited this place by happenstance as we were looking for a place to eat after visiting The Green Symphony located about eleven miles away. As my wife and I had only been to the city of Hsinchu once previously, we didn't know what to expect. As it turned out, this area is a pleasant surprise. Our evening visit was limited to the section of the moat between the old city gate, located within a traffic circle to the south of the moat section we visited, and the restaurant 'Cafe Grazie'. The trees by the moat were all lit up with red lights whereas hundreds of solar powered lights were blinking like stars in the night sky. The effect was quite mesmerizing as the lights were reflected in the water and the blinking was sufficiently random to minimize boredom. A bonus is that there were many places to eat in the immediate vicinity. While my wife and I only partaked in two while we were in the area, chances are there is at least one to your liking if Google reviews are you be believed.

Really scenic place to walk when you visit downtown.

I love to go there whenever i have free time and hang out with my friend. 😊

Visited at night. Not much lights. Pretty dark. Still seems nice.
