Nice bookshop with an assortment of postcards. The post office is nearby so you can post them too.

The atmosphere in the store is very comfortable, and the cultural and creative products are also very distinctive and have a sense of design!

The growing humanities education is quite lacking. Jiaotong University is extremely marginalized in the humanities. It is not until the research institute hangs around at National Taiwan University that those dimensions are gradually becoming important for individuals to see the world in a diverse manner. At 7 o'clock in the morning, I went to Dadaocheng 1920 Bookstore to listen to the sharing of Zhou Yicheng, who is a generation of Wild Lily student movement and is now a district micro-economic operator. The theme is "Remodernization and the 2020s" 1. We are still alive in the 1920s 2. Unfinished modernization 3. Modernization and the opposite of rationality 4. Remodernization of Taiwan and East Asia 5. Remodernization and universal values This is not a rigorous college course, but I am very happy to hear it. #随手记 The world and neighborhoods are constantly changing, so what are we going to save? Our impression of a historic district may have lost its original glory. People living in that neighborhood in different ages may see different time periods, and they may have what they want to save. We can first think about his (block/society) future. If there is no flashlight (hope for the future), it may be easy to fall into history and become a historical habit. That's why it is said that we should first use contemporary perspectives to imagine, and after projecting into the future, we will return to the past to see what we need. This is not to say that history is not important. It is two people who construct the future and preserve history. It is also very important for us to properly seal the true history of the moment, to avoid creating messes. For example, a design company recently helped Tainan Temple to make stone steles on Internet Google (the people in the temple later discovered that it was different from the temple itself.) History is truly sealed, and it can provide real data to creatives/creators. But the same creative people should not be constrained by history and tradition. Dadaocheng’s view in 1920 mentioned that Guo Xuehu’s "Nanjie Yinfan" 1920 painting was a glorious era in Dadaocheng. Jiang Weishui promoted the Taiwan New Cultural Movement in 1920. The 1920 is the modern era, and we should preserve it after the 1920s. Many of our current concepts and lifestyles are the same as in the 1920s, but they are very different from before 1920. Those before 1920 can be put in the refrigerator to keep him from rancid. The modernization of Britain can be pushed to the 18th century, and that of East Asia is the beginning of the 20th century. In Taiwan, under the 1920 New Culture Movement, the era of breaking traditions and questioning past beliefs has made great progress in science, technology, and medicine. After 100 years of modernization, there have been some problems. From Sun Wen to the May 4th Movement of China’s modernization, more than a dozen young people were looking for a path to the future. The Communist Party and the Kuomintang were the plans at the time, and it seems that they have taken a very wrong path. The Communist Party originally wanted to fight against capitalism, but China was not industrialized at that time. Mao led the non-workers but the peasant class to oppose the landlords. It was also very traditional in China (like Hong Xiuquan) There is a big gap between the rich and the poor in China, and the rich will feel that they are in a superior class. But in the old-brand capitalist countries, although the United Kingdom and the United States are rich and poor, they have less emphasis on human class. The notion of Datong (like a religion), as long as you are Chinese, you must support Datong. However, there is no demonstration of the benefits of general integration to the world and individuals. Need to get rid of such big obsessions, it may be able to solve the current predicament. #Taiwan's modernization Can we say that Taiwan is a modern country? From the fact that the epidemic prevention is successful and economic at the same time, it can be said that it is in line with modernization. But some parts don’t seem to exist. For example: the implementation of work safety is not enough. Please see the work class wear slippers and move bricks. And there may still be many people who spit. Jiang Weishui launched the New Culture Movement in 1920, and some of our customs have not yet been changed. Jiang Weishui criticized burning gold paper in 1920, and we have not changed it yet. However, as the boss Zhou went to his Miaoli factory to pay his respects, he still couldn't help but burn gold paper. Others: Before criticizing the phonetic symbols, the criticism was heavier than the criticism of blue and green. The phonetic symbols seem to be part of our national identity. We do not know the author, but continue to follow the customs of the peasant calendar. Some of the problems with the California fire and covid19 are that we have not yet modernized. We can look back 100 years, and Qia is just the right time. Why choose 100 years to look back? 10. Twenty years is too short, and 1000 years is too long (historical fetish). We can look back to the spirit based on "rationality" 100 years ago in 1920, and what went astray at that time. The core of re-modernization is rationality, but it is not only instrumental rationality (the shortest time, the most economical), but also valuable rationality (talking about meaning). In order to break away from the extremes of the elite or populism, and open up new paths. #Future community prototype Is it possible for Taiwan to become a multilingual and multicultural country? For example, instead of forcing all the same cultural holidays (Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival), let everyone take their own cultural holidays. If only one kind of cultural leave is forcibly released, it will only cause the amplification of the strong national culture. And what is the spirit of the modern nation-building? The part of common value is not necessarily like a nation, but a system. ㄧThe basic framework of the future community of human beings is rationality, while being free and allowing cultural diversity to exist. #On China Zhou is politically realistic and feels that Taiwanese intellectuals should discuss the future path of China without joining the great revival of China. Not optimistic about Chinese democracy. China's threat to the world is to export its own model to the outside world. This may be more obvious after COVID-19, when people in liberal democracies question the efficiency of democratic countries, comparing the efficiency of tools of authoritarian regimes like China. The horror of authoritarianism does not threaten the people, but when people begin to believe and think this is better. But it may take 20-30 years to feel free.
