Under the background of time and space, the school established two institutes of electrical engineering and mechanical engineering on the Baoshan campus in the eighty-eighth academic year to cultivate advanced personnel in electrical and mechanical research. Then, in the 90th academic year, it inherited the grouping under the Department of Industrial Education, and divided into three departments: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and electronic engineering. Each grade enrolled one class for each student. After the faculty structure was gradually complete and mature, the Faculty of Engineering was established in the academic year of 91. The first dean was seconded by Professor Lin Qingyi, who was seconded by Cheng Kung University to serve the school. Under the supervision of Dean Lin, he devoted himself to the construction of software and hardware. In addition to the professional laboratories of each department, he also set up a laboratory shared by two departments of the two engineering colleges of electronic circuits and computer networks and provided guidance. The Department of Information Engineering was established in the 91 academic year. In the same year, the Department of Mechanical Engineering applied to rename the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in order to adjust its teaching and research directions, taking into account the integration of machinery and electricity. So far, the departments of the School of Engineering have covered fields such as machinery, electricity, and information. It can be said that the scale has begun to take shape, and with excellent teachers and comprehensive courses and curriculum planning, it provides students with multiple learning opportunities.
