very rare number of people know this part of history, even local Taiwanese. This place is one of POW camp in Taiwan during WWII that Japanese prisoned solders from UK, ANZAC(Australia and New Zealand) fought for Pacific battles. Even now the place become a memorial park, still good to have a look. Quite Pity there has no any museum or places to share more information about it, only Gold Museum(黃金博物館) near by got limited info...

Very surprised at the small size of the place and how it looked neglected, considering its significance.

While it's good having the memorial it's not very well cared for. However, the importance of the memorial is the most important aspect of this place.
