The Magic Spoon Brunch House

If you’re looking for a good western breakfast spot- this is it! The French toast is pretty special. May not look special but trust me, it’s delicious! Bacon was CRISPY & SO D A M N GOOD! Seriously. Coffee was good but nothing special. I didn’t come for coffee so that didn’t bother me. I’ll be back, for sure!!

Awesome Canadian brunch joint in Kaohsiung! I have nothing but praise for this restaurant. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is just right and the owner is an absolute gem! As he is Canadian, you'll be instantly greeted with Canadian politeness and charm. He definitely made us feel right at home. Recently, my husband and I have been feeling homesick after moving here from Canada. After visiting this joint with some friend, we feel like we were transported back to Canada. I don't know how they did it, but you legitimately feel like you are in a Canadian brunch joint. It's a testament to how well thought out the place is. We can't forget the food! Felt just like a Canadian breakfast with delicious crunchy bacon, fluffy pancakes, french toast, or waffles, and of course the side of freshly cut fruit! Obviously they have more selection, so don't hesitate to try what fancies you If you are feeling a little homesick and need a pep, or if you just want some good ole Canadian breakfast, this is the place to go.

A gem in Kaohsiung! We visited the city for three nights and came to this restaurant three times. I had the hungry lady and pancakes. The pancakes melt in your mouth, the bacon is really tasty, the coffee is strong, the chorizo has a nice kick, and the eggs are organic. Definitely order the breakfast sausage! If you are lucky there will be some left. The owner also takes great care in choosing the ingredients he uses (the sausage is from a local business). I'm glad we found this place because no other places we researched came close. Definitely go here if you want some delicious meals.

A most excellent place to enjoy a hearty delicious well-priced authentic Canadian breakfast (or lunch). I enjoyed a number of dishes on the menu. The proprietor of the Magic Spoon goes through great efforts to source quality ingredients as one taste of his bacon will prove. Definitely one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in Taiwan in the past 18 years, so good in fact that we came back three days in a row! Be sure to try a sausage roll.
