super recommended for hiking lover. free water, gas and kitchenware at the temple located at top. definitely a must visit trail in Taiwan.

The starting point of the trail is located next to the houses near Zhangnaoliao. There are insufficient parking spaces beside the road. There is a courtyard of the houses for parking at a fee of 50 yuan. When you reach the signboard of Squirrel on foot, you can walk up the hill in the left and right directions, the wooden plank road steps are the main steps to the right, and the stone steps are the main steps to the left. Going to the right, you will pass the suspension bridge and cross the Alishan Forest Railway at many places. You can capture various photographic shots. Personally, I suggest you go from the top right, then go down the mountain and then from the bottom left.nThe one-way summit is more than 2 kilometers, and there are many steep ascent sections in the whole journey. It takes about 1 hour to climb to the summit. The triangle point is 840M above sea level, and there is a pavilion next to it. After reaching the top, you can go to Independence Hill Station for a tour, and then go up a short distance to taste the Aiyu made by the store on the mountain. It tastes good.nThe Independence Mountain Trail is well maintained and the process is quite interesting and worth a visit.

It is a pretty good hiking trail in Chiayi. If the parking space is full, you can park in a private parking lot (50 yuan/time). This hiking trail can see the small train and railroad tracks when climbing the mountain, and you can also see the train tunnel entrance. It is a unique feature. The cherry blossoms are currently in bloom, and you can also see the cherry blossoms on the Independence Hill Cherry Blossom Trail near Independence Hill Station. At the beginning, we started to climb from Zhangnaoliao Station. When we reached the trail climbing entrance, we could choose different routes. We chose the trail towards the roundabout railway, then climbed to the triangle point of Independence Mountain, and then walked down to Independence Mountain Station. Enjoy cherry blossoms on the Independence Mountain Sakura Trail, then climb up to Fengtian Temple, and then walk back to Zhangaoliao Station from another route (Bridge No. 1). The journey takes about 3-4 hours (including 0.5-1 hour rest at Fengtian Palace Square ), it is recommended to arrange to climb before 8 o’clock in the morning~ There are courtyards for rest on the way of this trail. Fengtian Palace Square also provides a lot of space, tea and cooking utensils, and you can talk to the mountain friends after full exercise Relax here~
