National Museum of Taiwan History

Beautiful park around the museum. You can easily spend a few hours outside just picnicking and enjoying the environment. When I went there the museum was closed for renovations. There was a small exhibition on Japanese textbooks. It was quite well curated in the sense that the scope was very well defined and the content of the show supported the premise of the theme. It was straightforward and informative. I look forward to visiting again when they open again in 2021.

Really interesting, but you need a guy for translating, nothing is written in English

While not the biggest, the museum does a great job of bringing across the Taiwanese history.nThe main exhibition has great descriptions in English for every piece displayed, the temporary exhibitions only have translations for the bigger pieces. Nonetheless they're very interesting, and definitely worth a visit
