Chih-Sheng Memorial Hall

Hidden in the lively streets of Taipei, only separated by a wall, you can walk into the time tunnel and experience first-hand the peaceful Taiwanese and Western architecture during the Japanese occupation. This is the Zhisheng Memorial Hall hidden in the second section of Zhongshan North Road, Datong University. In fact, the Zhisheng Memorial Hall is the former residence of Lin Shangzhi, the founder of Datong Company. In 1997, Mr. Lin Ulshan, the third generation of the Lin family, donated this memorial residence to Datong University in the name of the Association for the Promotion of Industrial Development. The predecessor of Datong Company, Xiezhi Company, is itself a very large-scale builder. Therefore, a lot of thought was spent on the self-occupied house. The best building materials were selected at the time. The fortification procedures used the most innovative technical methods at the time. Japanese and Western design aesthetics, and following the beaming process during the Japanese Occupation, not only made a record of the identity of this building, but also left a model of the era in the construction method of that time. Those who are interested can take a closer look. As an ordinary person who wants to be quiet, this is located in downtown Taipei. It takes less than ten minutes to walk to Yuanshan Station and Minquan West Road Station, which is very close and pleasant. It's worth walking in and enjoying a moment of leisure!
