I was staying in Taitung during my holiday and I was brought to the ER by ambulance at about 10 pm after having a biking accident nearby. The nursing staff and doctor were caring and efficient, although the department was not busy at the time, and my injuries weren't too bad. It only took about an hour and a half to get the x-rays and diagnosis. The doctor on call spoke English, as did some of the nursing staff. The doctor was kind enough to help me speak to the police while I was still in the ER, and a member of the hospital staff arranged a taxi for me so I could get back to my hotel afterward.
