National Central Library

Came here thinking it was part of the Taipei City library system. Was able to get a library card and my YoYo card was granted gate access. Turn out you can't check outnbooks here. Well totally confused but a nice big comfortable library to spend some time. Google map said to get off at CKS station but if you are coming from Shilin you can get off at NTU station to save 5 NT. The library is in the middle.

Large library with lots of places to sit and study/work/read. Most of the tables have power outlets. The chairs aren't super comfortable. The WiFi could definitely be faster but at least it was stable.nnYou need a library card to get in. There's a counter just inside the main entrance where you can apply for a library card. You need a passport or ARC card, and you can link your library card to your easycard. The staff was very friendly and helpful.nnAt the moment masks are required at all times!

Wonderful place to visit! You are going to see lots of local people who spend their time there, reading books; very impressive! I carried my own tablet PC with some papers to read. I spent 2 hours there and had tasty lunch in the basement. Very clean and pleasant place! Just show your passport at the entrance, then you will be very welcomed! I must be there next time too! :)

When I was living in Taipei, studying and working on my graduate thesis I heard about this library. Supposedly they had a larger language selection than the uni campus library but I found out the city bookstores had the best. Good only because of the location.
