As a self proclaimed foodie, I’ve eaten my way through italian restaurants in Taipei at every price point, and Merlot is truly an incredible experience. Vicky is an absolute sweetheart and you can’t go wrong with any dish here. My personal favorite is the truffle risottoud83dude09nnI’m lactose intolerant, so I have to be incredibly picky about my food to avoid getting sick. Luckily, Merlot is equally picky about the ingredients they use - they even import their dairy from Europe. It really is love at first bite.nnIf you need any more convincing, the owners rescued and adopted the cutest dog, Sandy. Sandy was originally abandoned in the mountains of Taipei, and lost her front paws to an animal trap. Delicious, high-quality, affordable, and owned by a kind-hearted couple — what more can you ask for?
Have wanted to try this place for a while, and finally went for dinner with a friend on Friday night. The experience was somewhat disappointing.nnFirst, the food. I had the wild mushroom soup with truffle oil, and my friend had the garden salad. The soup was good, and the salad was ok. We both ordered the pasta aglio e olio, which was overcooked and over salted. We had the desserts of lemon tart and tiramisu, both were fine.nnI would describe the service as average: you called, they came; neither rude nor friendly. I had arrived about 10 minutes early and my friend was 10 minutes late. In the 20 minutes of waiting, not once was I asked if I wanted anything to drink.nnThe ambience was nice, and the price was reasonable.
Everything about this place was spot on: The food, the service, the decor, and most definitely the people.Service is super attentive and friendly. Great place for spending lunch with your family. This is quite a unique place but I like it very much! I liked the seafood risotto.
The wine, the food, the music. Everything is perfect with great prices.
I love the food. Cooked to perfection. The blend of Asian and European herbs and spices are refreshing as the signboard suggest. A must try when in Taipei. Truly excellent food. Very refine food and not forgetting to mention, excellent service.
