Very nice atmosphere, but the food is quite disappointing for the price. The cold platter plate (ping pan) is the best thing here. And the beef cheek soup isn't bad. But the three cup chicken is both tough and lacking in nuance, as is the fried spare ribs. Definitely not worth the price, there are far better places to est Taiwanese food for far cheaper.
Fine dining. Nice place to host for foreign guests. For locals, you could always find a better restaurant with reasonable price!
Maybe I was unlucky and didn't have the best experience when I went. Was very excited for this restaurant and finally found an opening to check it out with family. Would not visit again.nPlus: intimate and designed ambience in old Shanghai style, designed utensils, out-of-ordinary dishesnMinus: the manager whom took our order wasn't professional or useful at all. Didn't help us decide on what to order, portion control, and balancing out the dishes (I expected more from 1star). The dishes were great but not out of the world & didn't leave lasting impression. Lastly, definitely way OVERPRICED in my opinion.
uff08with English menu) it’s a Michelin start restaurant, and some of the dishes need to be ordered in advance. It’s very fancy Chinese/Taiwanese restaurant. All the dishes are very delicious. It’s suitable for having a meal with your import guests. But the price is also very fancy. It’s not a place for a normal lunch/dinner.
Very good Taiwanese food emphasizing local ingredients (especially braised pork and the signature delicate rice noodles). Servers enthusiastic about the food were a plus, as was the 1930s location and recipes. Overpriced though so subtracted a star.
