921 Earthquake Museum of Taiwan

Honestly this place was so cool! It's a bit hard to get to on public transportation but it's totally worth it. It's $50NT to get in. All of the exhibits are really interesting and most things have great English translations. It tells the history of the 921 earthquake, pictures from the aftermath, the science of earthquakes, and how to prevent quakes from being so devastating in the future. Most of the staff I encountered were kind and knew some English. I loved this museum!

A truly humbling place that shows the enormous destruction caused by the earthquake. The room that allows one to feel the power of such an earthquake is an excellent experience to understand how truly terrifying it must have been. Whilst much is in Chinese it is definitely worth visiting.

Very unique and informative museum. Kids and adults will appreciate this museum as it shows how earthquake are formed, how modern engineering is applied to retrofit buildings and how to prepare for one. I particularly liked the simulated earthquake for you to actually feel how hard a particular earthquake's magnitude is. must go!

This place is huge and wide with histories to tell.nYou can buy entrance fee for 60NTD if I'm not mistaken, and then you can start your journey following the point from the map.nCareful because you might get lost and ended up in just places of places inside this area.nnIt's worth the visit if you are curious about the earthquake that hit Taiwan.nThere are also many activities you can do on certain times only, my favorite will be you can experience the 7ish magnitude shake, just like what happened back then.nnThis place is quite far depends on where you start, but mine took around hour and so to get there, and still need to walk for 10 mins after you're off from the bus stop.nnBear in mind to fully explore this place could take around 3 hours to finish it.
