Sheraton Taitung Hotel

Nice large hotel, probably one of the better hotels in the city. This is our second stay here. The rooms are nice and the staff was accommodating. The hotel was a touch dated as the knob in the shower was loose and one of the lights in the room didn’t work. Also you can see a wire sticking out of the S in the Sheraton name above the front door in the main entrance. The breakfast is a big buffet but like many tourist hotels, very crowded. Overall, it was a nice stay.

Nearly perfect Wonderful service, great personnel. Facilities such as sauna, spa, swimming pool are good. However, a few things didn’t live up to the Sheraton standards. 1. Rooms had extremely weird design. Perfect for solo travellers, but not for sharing! There is ZERO privacy for using the bathroom or even the toilet! Toilet door a semi-transparent, not from floor-to ceiling, facing directly the bed! Washing area is in the middle of the room (5-star hotel???) 2. The gym offered no towels. Not acceptable for a 5-star hotel gym 3. Upon arrival, no concierge greeting outside. We had to wave our hands to get someone’s attention from inside and come help us with the suitcases from the car... 4. The room had a 24-hour nonstop noise from loud running water, as if the waste water pipes were passing through 5. The air conditioner worked only for cooling. So, on a 17° outdoor temperature our only option was to turn on to 24°, only to... make it even colder???

The best hotel in Taitung area. Room is not very big but cozy. The breakfast was quite many choices, but swimming pool is quite small. It is in a night market street area, very convenient to go. Highly recommend to stay there.

930pm on a quiet night at the 8F Moonbar...This is what we've got for ordering 2 teas, 1 beer and a dessert. offered no lime, no sugar & cream, no chilled glass for the beer and no napkins... This is Sheraton, we can at least expect the basics.. There was only one waiter and was doing dishes and stuff and the Miss supervisor (I presume) was not doing the rounds, we were left with zero service for hours. In the end we even had to pay our bills at the bar, standing...

Pros: Comfortable room. Good Chinese restaurant on 2F. Pool is not bad in city. Cons: Parking lot is outdoors and a bit far. Long wait for the elevator.
