Beitou Hot Springs Resort

If you are a day-tripper, cleanliness is hardly guaranteed in a Taiwanese hot springs resort. After having been shocked at the grubbiness of some other places, I’ve stopped being adventurous and just keep coming back here. The communal baths here will sure to put your mind and body at ease, offering drinking water / clean sandals / quality towels / consistently respectful clientele. The latter can make or break your hot springs experience, as I’ve discovered the hard way.

It was great! Wife enjoyed her massage and after that we both had a very nice time in the hot bath with some wine and complimentary cookies from BHSR. Would give 5 stars, but there are some mold spots on the ceiling and more spots on the blinds. Also found some black short hairs on my pillow (I'm blond). Not to mention the shower head holder was broken. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience and we would come again!

We got a room at the very corner of the hotel for 2, and it was helllllla cold! We requested help. The staff came up and just lent us a small heater, which was hard to plug in because of the poor design of most of the hotel's power sockets, and after 30 mins it was not warming up the room at all. We were surprised that they said the heater on the wall was no use at all. They came up again after request, and changed the locations of the heater several times to finally find a place where the power socket would work, and finally it got warmer. The room was small. The bathroom is by the entrance door, but we'd have to walk across the room and bed all the way to the other side to wash our hands, as the sink was next to the shower and tub on the other side of the room. Odd design. It was hard to enjoy the room due to the freezing temperature (which was why we wanted to go for hot spring in the first place... sigh). Wouldn't recommend.

Just had one of the most comfortable public onsen baths at this hotel. *Note: Big thanks to SweetMe (水美）for refusing us to bath there because they insist it would be safe for our handicapped member of our party to bath in their public bath. Instead, SweetMe actually insisted that we should stay in one of their hotel rooms and do private bath. I had to wonder, if they thought it would be unsafe to bath in their public bath, it would be SAFER to stay in their hotel room bath? That is a very strange logic of their front desk receptionists!!!! Without the “help” of SweetMe Onsen Hotel, we would t be able to try out this venue. Anyway, we thoroughly enjoyed the onsen bath facility in the Beitou Hot Springs Resort and the very friendly staffs offered to us. Bravo!!! 👍了! Update: I haven’t able to enjoy this facility fir nearly a year. Hopefully, I can go visiting this onsen hotel very soon and even stay over night! 👍
