The restaurant highlights many of the tradition southeast asian food. The atmosphere is great and the taste is on above average since you could taylor the spice to your liking with the sauce they have provided. There is not alot of options but it makes it easier for customers to choose. The meal is guaranteed to fill the average young adult perfectly. They also have really special desserts. The only down side is it's pricey meals for teenagers to afford. Other than the price, it's a great place to get a taste of southeast asian food.

Great food, great vibe! The owner literally brought the Peranakan culture out on display, as part of their interior design. It really made me felt like I was in Malacca. I have been to a ton of South East Asian restaurants in Taiwan, and Pondok Sunny is so far the most authentic one. The sambal chili served in the restaurant was phenomenal! Exactly the ones that you’ll get on the dining tables in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. Time to recharge your body with some turmeric! Oh yeah, btw, the iced americano was surprisingly good. Not something I expected from a restaurant that serves authentic South East Asian food. Try it!

My comfort place. The food is amazing. Though they serve Indonesian food, the taste has been adjusted to Taiwanese flavour. It's not that spicy. The restaurant is very clean, neat, and aesthetic. With a lovely indonesian traditional music, you will experience eating in Saung Bambu. Great. All time best menu is Rendang Beef with yellow rice. But you should definitely try the laksa and kue lapis too. I love ittt

I love their sweets more than their salty one! (which used to be called Kue Kue Tradisional). Their sambal terasi is lack of spices flavor since I taste only salty flavor. (Maybe because its 小辣 one). Should be used fresh sambal except preserved on jar one (I prefer the sambal where you cook and grind it yourself). The chicken is good and tender but too oily, yet I like their yellow rice, so fragrant. Their tempe and anchovy is hard. Maybe their taste-preference for Taiwanese, so when I tried it myself I find it lack of something. I tried their Cendol too (they called it 錢多錢多, which is unique xD), but for me its quite lack of something. Not enough palm sugar and their santan (coconut milk) still able taste the lump. I believe their cendol is unique since they make it QQ (chewy), not like the Cendol I used to eat in my hometown. But for their sweets, the Kueh! is worth to try! 娘糕 so great and colorful!!! Its good as a snack gift too!
