National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts

Currently under renovation, lots of exhibits not ready.

A MUST VISIT! 10/10 worth the visit! Take your time to explore every inch of this museum. If your itinerary starts from very early, make this the first place you visit on your trip because you will need at least 2 and half or 2 hours minimum to fully experience this place, but take my advice on willing to spend at least 3 hours. There are so many things to see and absorb during the exhibition. All in all, 10/10 and take your time when visiting.

Excellent place to hang out. I would have preferred if the painting display was more thematic. But the place is more than art. They have a great park, a library, cafe, and restaurant. Nice place to spend the weekend.

Great museum to visit! Truly a gem in Taichung. They have a great curation of contemporary and local artists that offer a glimpse into the Taiwanese artistic tradition. Their library is also very informative and substantial; I was able to do a bit of research while I was here and the catalogs and personnel were super helpful. Note: Visited prior to COVID, so things may be different.

Very spacious, well organized display rooms for various kinds of art: painti,printings, photographs, sculptures. Entry is free. As a foreigner you'll need to fill out simply name and telephone number or address.
