The name Yongchun comes from Yongchun County in Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, People's Republic of China. This place is the hometown of many Taiwanese Han people. In addition, the school is located on Yongchun East Road, so the name has both historical and substantive significance. In addition, "forever" has the meaning of always cherishing the teacher's grace and always remembering the heart, while "chun" has the meaning of transforming spring weather and educating talents. The Taichung City Government planned to establish Yongchun Elementary School in October 1998, and it was formally established on May 1, 1999. On August 1, the same year, the president of Heping Elementary School, Chen Congming, was selected as the first principal. Set up Yongchun Elementary School. Enrollment was officially opened on August 1, 2001. Only the first to fifth grades were enrolled in the first year, with a total of 34 classes and 1,167 students.

This is the most characteristic elementary school located in Nantun District, Taichung City. The main building is a "Mesopotamia" castle architectural style. There are two spiral staircases in the school, and the walls are divided into hollow and enclosed (the hollow is for nobles and men with status, and the enclosed is for women and servants).
