Keelung Mountain Peak

It's an easy hike to get to the top with wonderful views of the ocean and nearby mountains. It's a good side trip from 九份.

Truly spectacular panoramic views of the coast and nearby towns, a stone's throw away from Jiufen old street. Dynamic views based on the weather and time of day. The climb is relatively steep, but well paved with steps and resting gazebos.

A relatively easy climb up stairs that takes about 30 minutes going at a normal pace, with occasional stops for photo breaks.nnIf you want a real challenge, try the trail in the NE corner of the viewing area that leads to the tops of the two smaller peaks to the east.nnYou should be in shape to try this, though. The last bit of trail from the middle peak to the top of Ji Long Dong Feng (the eastern-most peak) is steep, and you need to use a rope that's there to make your way amont the rocks.

A moderately easy 45-minute hike up a stone footpath to the summit, rewarded with panoramic views of the Keelung coastline and JiuFen Town. Highly recommended.
