Maolan Mountain Trail

Strictly speaking, only a first few hundred meters look like a trail. Most of part is car road for the weather station at the top. Therefore the trail is wide and comfortable. It’s mostly under the shadow, and in the lookout point, you can see awesome views. At the top, you can enjoy the whole view of sun moon lake

Not really a hike, it’s a short walk up a steep closed asphalt road. View at the top was very nice and peaceful. Low stars as I was expecting an actual HIKE!

Gated trail very shortand easy but you sweat a lot still. Wild lush vegetation around but the trail is paved. Takes only 30 min to get to the top from the trail head. Getting to the trail head from the main road perhaps 15 min. It gets only little steep towards the end where you can spend 10 min at the observatory deck which is also gated. Need to get out before they close at dawn. It is not open 24 hrs like some trails in Taichung.
