The largest movements in Christianity are Catholicism, Orthodoxy and Protestantism. In 1054, the Christian Church split into Western (Catholic) and Eastern (Orthodox). The rise of Protestantism was the result of a reform movement in the Catholic Church in the 16th century. Christianity arose in the 1st century in Palestine, which at that time was under the rule of the Roman Empire, initially among the Aramaic-speaking population of Mesopotamia, and in the first decades of its existence it spread to other provinces and among other ethnic groups [3]. As a state religion, Christianity was first adopted in Greater Armenia in 301 [4] [5] [6]. Under Emperor Constantine I, starting with the edict of 313 on freedom of religion (see Edict of Milan), Christianity began to acquire the status of a state religion in the Roman Empire [7].
