Incredible building An incredible location is in Drohobych. Probably everyone has heard about it, but if you haven't been there yet, the popular #travelUkraine is just very, very appropriate. Church of St. George - a masterpiece of European construction! Sounds true! "yes and yes. oh well a straightforward masterpiece" - you say, "so!" - I will answer. It's simple, you can even start with the fact that there are actually two churches, not one. But now about the main, or the first, it does not matter. It all started in the 15th century, when the construction of the church began, and when the wood was prepared for such a structure is unknown. Initially, there was a simple small wooden church, to enlarge it, over time, the already dismantled church was brought from the village of Nadievo in 1656. So the first church became another church, but on the second floor. Back then, only one liturgy a day could be served in a church, and two churches doubled the number of services. Mannerism was the name of the style in which the Drohobych builder Hryhoriy Tesla worked (he died in 1711) The whole plane of the church is a short collection of illustrated scenes from the books of the Old and New Testaments. This is the work of Drohobych artist Stefan Popovych Meditsky. He created the altar and some of the paintings, and his son Ivan came to the rescue, who after the death of his father completed the design of the temple, so often different walls have different handwriting in writing. Extremely beautifully surveyed area. It immediately becomes calm as soon as you enter the temple. Interestingly, this is a 2 in 1 church, on the first and second floors have their thrones and golden gates. It is nice to see that work is underway to restore the premises.
