Monument to Vatutin in Kiev, over the grave of the Soviet military leader, Hero of the Soviet Union, General of the Army Nikolai Fedorovich Vatutin, was installed in 1948 at the entrance to the Mariinsky Park from the side of Hrushevsky Street in the Pechersky district of Kiev, not far from the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Its authors are sculptor Vuchetich, architect Belopolsky. The dimensions of the monument: the height of the sculpture is 4 meters, the pedestal and basement are 4.5 meters, the area of ​​the mosaic panel is 35 square meters. A full-length figure of Vatutin in an overcoat, carved from a block of gray granite and installed on a rectangular pedestal. The pedestal and plinth, in the shape of a truncated pyramid, are made of blocks of black labradorite and are bordered by laurel bronze garlands around the pedestal. On the ends, two reliefs are carved, reproducing episodes of the crossing of the Dnieper and the meeting of the Ukrainian people with the liberators. On the obverse, an inscription in Ukrainian is carved in bronze letters: To the Hero of the Soviet Union, General Vatutin from the Ukrainian people. The grave is surrounded by a low granite border and covered with symmetrically arranged colored mosaic compositions symbolizing military valor, immortality of feat, flags, torches, order ribbons, united by a frieze of laurel and oak leaves, as well as orders. In the center of the mosaic panel there is a granite slab with a dedication in Ukrainian: Faithful son of the Bolshevik party, a talented commander of the Red Army, General of the Army Vatutin, 1901-1944, commanded the First Ukrainian Front

The monument is located in the heart of the capital - Mariinsky Park. In Soviet times, it had a certain "fastening" character. Now it is a spectacular example of Soviet monumental art.
