Municipal Higher Educational Institution of the Kyiv Regional Council "Chornobyl Medical College" is the legal successor of KVNZ "Chornobyl Medical School", which was renamed in accordance with the decision of the Kyiv Regional Council dated 28.11.2013 №706-35-UI. The origins of the Chornobyl Medical College date back to 1937, when a school of nurses was opened in Chornobyl. In 1954, the school received the status of a medical school after the transfer of the Velyko-Tokmakovsky medical school of the Zaporizhia region to the city of Chornobyl (Resolution of the Council of Ministers of Ukraine of the USSR №1392 of 7.09.54). The educational process was then carried out by 7 full-time teachers, the duties of the director were temporarily performed by IM Shcherbatyuk, the chief physician of the Center. In 1956 - the first graduation of 59 paramedics. In the same year, the team was headed by the surgeon of the Chornobyl Hospital Bobrytsky Eugene Fedorovich, who worked as director of the school until 1988. The school trained specialists in two specialties - paramedic and nursing. The accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in 1986 divided the activities of the school into two periods - before and after the accident. In 1986 the school was evacuated to Yahotyn (decision of the Kyiv Regional Executive Committee dated 14.07.86 № 197), located in the premises of an eight-year school № 2. The address of the educational institution changed, but its traditions, name, student and teaching staff remained. In 1988 the team was headed by surgeon Glinyany EI, and since 2000 - obstetrician-gynecologist Sosyukalo MP Over the years, the number of students has increased, the requirements for the equipment of the educational process, more and more inconveniences of the school in two adapted rooms have been felt. Therefore, in 1998 the vacated buildings of the district hospital were transferred to the educational institution, which allowed to significantly expand the number of offices, classrooms, to improve the practical training of future specialists. In accordance with the requirements of regulations, the school has been repeatedly accredited as a higher education institution of the first level of accreditation with the right to train nurses and paramedics on the basis of a full secondary school. Currently, the material and technical base of the college fully provides training for future medical professionals. For this purpose, the school has 3 laboratories and 17 pre-clinical practice rooms, which are equipped with modern simulators and tools, a variety of educational and methodological literature. Students have at their disposal a computer class, a library, a reading room with computers connected to the Internet. The offices and laboratories of the college are as close as possible to the offices of medical institutions. which is equipped in accordance with modern requirements. The methodical office of the college, which pays constant attention to the introduction of modern forms and methods of teaching, the study of the latest technologies, provides effective assistance in the organization of the educational process. The educational process is provided by an experienced team: 23 full-time teachers and 5 part-time specialists from among the doctors of the district hospital, 71.4% of them have the highest qualification category, 7 teachers - excellent education of Ukraine, 4 - have the title of methodologist ".
