1 And we know that if our earthly tent is to fall, we have a tabernacle made of God, not made by hand, but an everlasting house of heaven. 2 We sigh in this body because we long for our heavenly tabernacle to be filled, 3 though we do not prove to be naked. 4 For we also who are in this tent are sighing heavily, because we do not wish to take it down, but to put on it that the mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5 And God, who prepared us for this, gave us the Spirit as a pledge. 6 So we always trust, and know that while we live in the flesh, we live far from the Lord; 7 For we walk in faith, not in sight. 8 But we trust and would rather move out of the flesh and return to the Lord. 9 Therefore we strive to be kind to him, whether we live here or move. 10 For we all must stand before the judgment-seat of Christ, that all may receive what he deserves, according to what he has done in this body, whether good or evil.
