Small Synagogue, Beregove Small Synagogue in Beregovo - the only active Jewish religious building in the city, which is considered to be the main center of Hungarian culture in Transcarpathia. The synagogue was built back in the early 1920s, and the Jewish ritual bathhouse, standing next to it, was built around the same time. Once in Beregovo there were as many as six synagogues. To survive the period of Soviet power failed not all religious buildings. The only one remained - the so-called "small synagogue". There are no more than 40 believers in the Beregovo, but the sanctuary remains the only center of the Jewish religious and cultural life of the city. Some time ago the synagogue was completely restored. Despite the fact that she replaced the roof and windows, renovated the furniture and restored the interior decoration, the temple completely preserved its original appearance. On the ground floor there is a room for prayer and the Great Hall, which is used for religious and cultural events. In the synagogue a museum is opened, where among the exhibits of the permanent exhibition are memorable Jewish things and photographs transmitted by Transcarpathians to the museum's fund.
