About the house on the street. Soborniy, 1: Former city hall building. From September 1937 to May 1941 for almost 4 years it was the most important building of the newly created Kamyanets-Podilsky region: here, until the regional center moved to Proskurov, was the regional committee of the CP (b) U. In the postwar years, this building housed a military hospital. In 1957 the building was occupied by the construction technical school transferred from Kyiv to Kamianets-Podilskyi (now - Kamianets-Podilskyi College of Construction, Architecture and Design). Next to the college in a separate room is the school building and assembly hall. This hall for 700 seats was built by the students of the technical school in 1959-1962, as evidenced by the corresponding sign on the house. The house not only did not lose its proportions and harmony, but on the contrary, became even more expressive, monumental.
