The Jewish (Jewish) cemetery is one of the oldest burial places in Zhytomyr. Only here you can see the ancient Jewish graves in the form of boulders. In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Zhytomyr was one of the centers of cultural and religious Jewish life. Jewish tzaddiks (saints) are buried in the cemetery. Cultural figures, doctors, teachers, lawyers, engineers, and architects have done a lot of good for our city. During the XIX and early XX centuries, unique monuments were created here, much of which was destroyed during the Soviet era, and especially during the German occupation of the city. The cemetery is partially preserved. Almost all burials of the XIX century were destroyed. Part of the cemetery is abandoned, another part is built with garages.
