About this building: The history of the monumental building, which is now occupied by the Main Building of Kamyanets-Podilsky National University named after Ivan Ogienko, begins in 1906, when the construction of a three-story building for the technical school, opened in Kamyanets-Podilsky in September 1903. Originally it was a three-storey stone house.
The school estate occupied an entire block, in addition to a three-story building, the school owned two more outbuildings - one-story and 2.5-storey. The park was also laid out in the school building, a barn, a cellar, and the engine room of the power plant were located, and in 1914 the construction of a stone smithy was completed.
Inside the house contained the church of St. Mykolay, 17 classrooms, physical, natural history and agricultural classrooms, drawing, drawing and handicraft classes, two halls for rest and one for gymnastics, two laboratories - chemical and technical analysis, chemical auditorium, laboratory staff, offices of director, inspector and a doctor, a teacher's office, an office, a reception for applicants, two wardrobes, three toilets, a room for a doorman; in addition, the lobby and six side corridors.
During World War I, the institution suffered significant material losses. He was twice evacuated to other cities, during the last vacant training facilities became a place for quarters of various military formations.
On July 6, 1918, the building of the technical school was inspected by a commission headed by Professor Ivan Ogienko, the future rector of Kamyanets-Podilsky State Ukrainian University. Subsequently, a mixed commission was set up to divide the rooms of the building between the university and the school. But on January 1, 1919 the whole estate with all the houses passed into the use of the university.
On August 17, 1918, Hetman of Ukraine Pavlo Skoropadsky approved the law on the establishment of the Ukrainian State University in Kamianets-Podilskyi. The grand opening of the university took place on October 22, 1918. The event was perceived as an all-Ukrainian holiday.
At the beginning of the 1919 academic year, the university had 5 faculties - historical and philological, physical and mathematical, theological, agricultural and legal. Among the teaching staff were prominent Ukrainian scientists, cultural and political figures. Among the students of the university - a whole galaxy of future writers, artists, famous figures of Ukrainian culture.
The further fate of the university was actually determined by the defeat of the UPR in the autumn of 1920. Shortly after the fourth final capture of the city by the Bolsheviks in November 1920, the university was liquidated.
The house was destroyed during World War II. Reconstruction and reconstruction designed by Eduard Adler was completed only in 1963 (in particular, the fourth floor was added). The building became the main building of the Kamyanets-Podilsky State Pedagogical Institute (since 1997 - the State Pedagogical University, since 2003 - the State University, now - the National University named after Ivan Ogienko).
By the decision of the Khmelnytsky Regional Executive Committee of September 4, 1982, the house was recognized as a monument of urban planning and architecture of local significance. On September 17, 2003, a memorial plaque to Ivan Ogienko (authors: Borys Negoda, Volodymyr Lashko and Leonid Kiselyuk) was unveiled at the entrance to the main building.
The appearance of the building of the technical school clearly shows the features of the eclectic style, which was dominant in the architecture of administrative and educational buildings of the late XIX - early XX centuries. The first two tiers of the building are encircled by French rusting (although with grooves of different widths), the blades under the Corinthian order divide the windows of the second and third tiers in pairs, where both arched and rectangular window openings are used, interfloor profiled cornices divide the space into components. the stone emphasizes the center of symmetry.
The fourth tier, which the building acquired during its existence, is somewhat different from the ascetic finish. Its main dominant is the bas-relief image on the pediment above the central entrance, while the jagged articulation of the crowning cornice of the former facade is lost due to reconstruction.
I put three, because there are a number of disadvantages. Among the main ones are: some buildings are in a terrible state (winter is very cold, toilets since Soviet times and the like). The next problem is bribery. While studying at KPNU, I came across teachers who have only one way to pass the session - to pay. However, if there is a strong desire to learn, it is quite possible.
This is the best place for a weekend tour! I recommend to everyone!
He studied physics. I liked the course about networks and was generally satisfied with the level of teaching at the faculty.
I study in absentia. Last summer's session, the calls were not given because she did not know when the next session would be.
Therefore, in order to get a call to them, you have to go alone or ask some friends you want nearby.
After all, "beloved" Alina does not challenge electronically.
When I called her, she said that I was not alone and that there would be no challenge.
She would rather send me that electronic call than explain that I am not alone !!!
By the way, this Alina who is sitting in the correspondence department is a hamster and treats people properly !!!
