When the hetmanate was in the mansion, the Office of the Commandant of Kiev was located, later the House of Doctor. In September - December 1941, the cultural reference (department) of the OUN headed by the poet and politician A. Olzhich, which included the poetess O. Teliga, the journalist A. Shtul, and others, was illegally located in the house. The activity ceased at the beginning. 1942 Most of its members were arrested by the Gestapo and shot. Since 1947 there was the House of Scientists, whose drama studio circle was led by actor Yuriy Lavrov for about two decades (who worked until 1968 at the Kiev Russian Drama Theater named after Lesya Ukrainka).
