Chornohirsʹkyy Heohrafichnyy Statsionar

Founded in 1978 by Professor G.P. Miller. Located in the Carpathian Mountains (Chernogor massif) at the top of the Prut River (Carpathian National Nature Park), 17 kilometers away Vorokhta of Yaremche district city council of Ivano-Frankivsk region. The purpose of the hospital is to carry out scientific work, educational and industrial practices of students of the Faculty of Geography of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. The hospital conducts landscape-monitoring studies, regime meteorological, hydrological and phenological observations. They study the geophysical and geochemical properties and spatio-temporal organization of the natural complexes of steep-sided middle-mountainous forests, sub-glacial subalpine and peppenized Alpine highlands.
