I popped in for 5-10 minutes. I didn't really know much about the history but it's nice if you are walking by.

It is famous due to the film that was shot their. The ancient Yelets Monastery attracted the attention of the creators of the first native horror film "Viy". Filming at the monastery took place in the summer of 1966. By the way it has small garden where you can see some remnants of the building. I live in front of this territory so I can make an excursion for in xase you are going to visit Chernihiv - the city of legends!
