A nice hike to see the “waterfall”.

Manyavskiy sketch… According to the legend the first settlers in this area were two monks who took refuge here hiding from the Mongol army that conquered Kiev in the XIII century. However, the official date of skit foundation is the year 1606. The place of the skit was not chosen by chance. This is one of the powerful energy centres of the earth. It’s a mysterious place to which people come in order to rejuvenate, to get power and wisdom. This is a sacred place of healing spring water that comes out from nowhere just from under the huge stone. People drink this water and wash their bodies believing that it brings health and strength. Here in the year 1652 the monk Filaret saw in his dream a Holy Mother of God, after which the epidemic o plague that took lives of thousands people stopped. The huge cross was installed on this place in commemoration of the event. The place where Hetman of Ukrainian Cossacks Ivan Vigovskiy is buried. He was the successor to the famous hetman and rebel leader Bohdan Khmelnytskiy. However, Ivan Vigovskiy fell victim of the political plot and was executed without trial by the Polish commander.

Beautiful location for weekend trip. Interesting excursion. Unique history. Worth your time to spend.
