Mykolayivsʹka Tserkva

The official name of the church is the Church of St. Nicholas, the Wonderworker. The church is one of the oldest temples in the Transcarpathian region. They built a church in the 17th century. During the construction of the temple, only natural materials were used, in particular - wood. According to some sources, the church was originally built in the village Shashvar. In 1770 the church was moved to Sokyrnitsa and completely reconstructed. Also a fairly high tower in the form of a pyramid was added, a bell tower was built near it. The walls of the temple are decorated with a collection of natural wood crosses. The iconostasis was preserved to our times, which was created back in the far 1748.

Be sure to visit, especially near the interregional route. The antiquity is simply amazing. Free entrance. But it is better to come on Sunday morning to see the church in the middle. And if you have time, you can visit her peers in neighboring villages.
