Super Park - A monument of landscape art of the 19th century !!!
Irina Shkurupskaya (10/27/2020)
While staying in Vinnitsa region, we decided to diversify our leisure time by visiting this attraction, inspired by the reviews of previous experts. The park really makes an impression, but it is very neglected - to wear only sports shoes, as there are not even equipped tracks. An oak alley leads into an overgrown "forest" where locals have picnics without always cleaning up their trash. The building of the former neo-Gothic manor belongs to the Vinnitsa Agrarian College, which does not take care of it from the outside (the facade needs renovation). We were lucky - the navigator led us to the old entrance, which is closed, but it was there that we met a man who gladly gave us a tour and told us in detail about the history of Chirnyatinsky Park, about its owners the Vitovskys and Lvovs, and even managed to lead us inside the building. Thank you for the occasion for bringing us together with such an enthusiast, a real patriot of his village. With regret, I understand that if such a cultural value were in Europe, it would be made a real tourist Mecca, taking into account the history of origin, architecture and landscape design. This park deserves no less attention than Sofiyivka - with the only difference that no one knows about it.

The total area of the park is 31 hectares. Acquired protection status. As of 2008, the nature protection facility is in use by Chernyatyn College of Vinnytsia National Agrarian University. Chernyatyn Park belongs to the landscape parks. A palace in the Byzantine-Romanesque style was built on its territory. Five ponds with a system of dams have been preserved. As of the beginning of the XXI century, about 100 species and forms of shrubs and trees grew in the park, among them - forsythia and tamarisk. There is an alley of oaks over 350 years old in the park. Spruces grow on the hills. On the territory of the lower pond is the Island of Love. Near the southern facade of the palace grow white poplars, which have a volume of 4-5 girths. Founded Polish magnates Vitoslavsky owned Chernyatyn at the end of the XVIII century. At the same time a palace was built. In 1814, a park was laid out around the palace in the area where the oak and hornbeam forest was located. It was founded by gardener Dionysius McClair, who also founded a botanical garden located in Kremenets. He was invited to work by Ignatius Vitoslavsky. Dionysius McClair paved park alleys. Plantations that were already growing in the forest area were supplemented with coniferous and deciduous trees. Rough stone dams were created. Boxwood was located near the front facade of the building. After the park was laid, pavilions and gazebos were created, but they have not survived. Historians suggest that the entrance gate was built at the same time as the palace. Behind it was an orchard, near which lay two alleys. One of the alleys was surrounded by horse chestnuts. The alleys were adjacent to the lawn. Silver poplars grew on its sides. In 1839 the palace was reconstructed, the work was carried out according to the plan of the Maltese architect Henrik Ittar. In 1865 the park and the palace became the property of Maria Mykhailivna Lvova. Once a white marble sculpture was located in the park, stone bowls with Gothic carvings have been preserved until the 21st century.
