The composition of the monument is a 4-meter granite block, which symbolizes Sumy before M.Lushpa arrived in the city. The figure itself is sitting on the bench, which the other side relies on another lump smaller. The sculptor Eldaniz Gurbanov of Kharkov, who has already made several monuments for Sumy - the hussar, the Ladies with an umbrella, the Merry Sumchanin, cast M.Lushpa's figure. Mikhail Afanasyevich Lushpa was born on October 4, 1920 in a village. Mogritsa Sumy region. In 1972–1989 was the first secretary of the Sumy city committee of the Communist Party. In 1994, for a significant contribution to the construction of the city in the 70-80s, he was awarded the title of honorary citizen of Sumy. In 2000 he was awarded the Order of Equal to the Apostles Vladimir. In the same year, the avenue built by him was named in his honor. M. Lushpa died on May 23, 2007.

The park is beautiful, but not well maintained. More flowers are needed. Near the pedestal of Lushpa, roses are just a pity, they are not watered, not cared for. The park may be better. Ice cream prices are more expensive than in the city. Ice cream MalyukAm -25 hryvnias
