Memoryal Zhertvam Holodomora

Memorial complex to the victims of the famine: "Harvest of Sorrow". The memorial was built with the help of local philanthropists and patrons from abroad In Mirgorod. The idea to erect this monument came about a few years ago. It was started in 2006 with the support of the Association of Famine Researchers in Ukraine. Overseas philanthropists donated money for the construction of the complex (133,863 thousand UAH), enterprises and churches of Mirgorod Region raised 6 thousand UAH, another 8,9 thousand UAH donated by residents of the area. According to the city hall, on the site of the monument, the authorities in 1932-33 organized a so-called artificial morgue, which consisted of dead and dead people, residents of Mirgorod, Poltava and Mirgorod. At the unveiling of the monument, representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate served a memorial service. Completed construction in 2011.

Shame on the local authorities and the management of the railway station! The monument was overgrown with weeds and became a landfill!
