St. Nicholas Church

Beautiful church by the Danube. Nice place to sit and relax. Nearby is a nice little cafe, a playground, a workout area and a river walk. Also nearby is the Diorama at the old Muslim mosque. All accessible by bus #18 which costs 7 grivna at the time of this post.

A monastery on the banks of the Danube with a long history

On the banks of the Danube is a beautiful monastery. The place is very picturesque, emotional and pleasing to the eye !!! I recommend necessarily! Here guests are always welcome, and on March 27 they meet the Cross procession every year!

In ancient times, on the territory of the fortress of Izmail, which arose on the site of the Slavic settlement of Smil in 1590, monks settled. The Turks were loyal to the Christian church and allowed to create a metropolis in Braille. In 1639, the metropolis moved to Izmail and was located on the territory of the Izmail Nikolaevsky monastery.
