For a long time the prison management had to solve all problems related to its existence independently. To assist in the activities of prisons, “Committees of Prisons Committees” were formed, which included responsibilities for full control over the activities of prisons, as well as assistance in economic affairs. At the beginning of XX century. the general building of the institution was built (1907), a small building (1911), an administrative building (1912), a large building (1913), in the 70s - 90s - the administrative building of the special building, the regime building. . Pursuant to the order of the State Police Directorate No. 235 of 29.11.2002, an isolated section was set up in Vinnytsia Oblast for the detention of persons sentenced to life imprisonment with a planned filling of 400 people. Pursuant to the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 986 of 20.06.2002 and by order of the State Security Service of Ukraine # 183 of 05.09.2002, the reconstruction of the regime buildings for the detention of persons sentenced to life imprisonment began, which was completed in September 2002. Until November 1999 the institution was named the institution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Vinnytsia region. From November 1999 - the Vinnytsia Prison of the Department of the State Police Department, and since January 2004 - the Vinnytsia Institution for the Execution of Punishments for the Administration of the State Police in the Vinnytsia Region.
