The history of the Anthracite Gymnasium No. 1 dates back to September 5, 1988. Then on the territory of the 4-micro district of the city of Anthracite a school-new building No. 25 was opened. In the first 1988 - 1989 academic year, 1,562 pupils sat at school desks, 79 teachers taught them. The largest contingent of students was in 1990 - 1991 school year - 1692 pupils. The school-new building worked in full 2 ​​shifts, since the design capacity of its 1200 students. It took 15 years for the youngest school to become a school of a new type - a gymnasium. According to the decision of the session of the city council in 2003, secondary school No. 25 was reorganized into a gymnasium, the main tasks of which are personality formation, development of her abilities and gifts. On November 30, 2015, the gymnasium was reorganized into the "Antratsitovskaya Gymnasium No. 1 - School of the 1st level" LNR.
