Good place for souvenir shopping from on way to bukovel .

If you want to buy a good vishivanka come here. Much more hand crafted stuff than in tourist towns. But don’t believe it is much cheaper as some people say. Obviously these people also buy it from someone. Only few stalls were from the actual producers. No price tags. Price depends on your look. Stuff is pretty similar from stall to stall. Really hard to get there by bus. Market is old and dirty. Town itself is same. We couldn’t find where to eat at all. The most shocking was to see people selling dairy products on a street at 24 degree heat!😱

The Kosiv bazaar is still famous and a must if you are in the area. If you want to buy a truly authentic Hutsul item then concentrate on sellers of antiques, because everything else is now part of an industry, made for the tourists, and very often not even locally. The woolen blankets, lizhnyky, are still made locally and are authentic, although they may be no longer 100% local wool. The woven socks, even if they are locally made (not always the case), are often made with artificial tread instead of handmade woolen tread. The best way to enjoy this bazaar is to walk around without purpose, observe and feel the local atmosphere. The animal corner of the bazaar used to be much bigger, but even now it's worth a visit because it is the most authentic part of it.
