To say that I am delighted is not enough! This is a beautiful temple!
Church of the Nativity of the Holy Virgin. Temporarily belongs to the commercial-terrorist sect MP-FSB.
In 1793 this church was built and consecrated as the Catholic Church of the Nativity of the Virgin. Before that, there was a wooden church here, which was sold in the village of Berezivka, Makhnov district.
In the early twentieth century, after the disappearance of the Lublin Union in this area, the church was reconsecrated as Orthodox.
The interior of the Church of the Nativity of the Holy Mother of God is densely filled with rare examples of monumental paintings of the late XVIII century, made by the famous artist J. Prekhtel. Magnificent late Baroque frescoes completely cover all the walls and vaults of the temple. Among the preserved sacred images of the church, I was personally very impressed by the icon to the left of the iconostasis, which resembles the image of the Virgin and Child from the apse of the Volodymyr Cathedral in Kyiv. Probably, the locals themselves are not fully aware of the sacred grandeur of the temple, preserved to this day.
Under the stairs of the church in the dungeon is an ancient crypt, where the Obukhovsky family rests. The cellar is currently walled up.
In the churchyard there is a burial with a granite tombstone. One of the members of the Tarasevich family rests there. The head of the family, Lev Tarasevich, was a well-known immunologist at the time. He was also fond of photography, using the most modern photographic equipment at the time. At one time Mikhail Bulgakov, the author of the famous novel The Master and Margarita, visited him.
Behind the church in the field you can see a building that resembles the entrance to the basement. Locals call it - "cellar". Soviet power from and used for this purpose. But, looking inside, you can see that it was someone's monumental crypt.
Because it is located near the river Guyva
The church has been restored and has a chic look. Sightseeing in Zhytomyr region. It is also worth visiting the temple premises.
The church is interesting and closed (as usual), but there are no more tombs in this village. The locals took it apart.
