The Sergiy Hrushevsky City School in Kurenivka, now located at 164 Kyrylivskyi Street, is one of the most prominent sights of the Kyiv cell of Ukrainian architectural modernity. It was built in 1908-11 by the design of two famous architects - V.G. Krichevsky (recognized "captain" of a team of artists who designed in the style of UAM) and EP Bradtman. The construction was carried out at the expense of teacher SF Grushevsky, the father of Michael Hrushevsky (100 thousand rubles) and the City Duma (30 thousand rubles). The school complex consists of the main building (resembles the letter "P" in the plan), a residential outbuilding, an outbuilding and a fence. All are architectural monuments of local importance No. 292 / 1-4. The walls are made of the famous Kiev yellow-pink brick. The restrained but beautiful decor of UAM decorates the school. Hexagonal windows, portals of the entrance groups ... A toothed parapet on the roof, composed of fourteen triangular frontons - is a kind of "business card" of this work of UAM. On the walls are large triangular and round niches, filled with ornaments of multicolored tiles ... This is a real beauty. It is symbolic that both Hrushevsky and Krichevsky joined the creation of this monument. The building was admired and studied by Victor Chepelyk - a singer of UAM. In the times of the USSR there was a secondary school №14. In 2016, the walls of the school were accepted by the Vernadsky Tavrida National University, which moved from the occupied Crimea.
