It is very good that our authorities have restored and put such places in order.

I read a little why the memorial is dedicated - I decided to definitely visit. This should be written in textbooks. Maybe one of my or a woman's distant relatives died here. But unfortunately, the memorial on August 8, 2020 has a pathetic appearance. Crosses are more or less, although in half of them lime paint and fell. But next to the Obelisk is already falling apart. Everything around was overgrown with weeds and huge borscht (by the way, dangerous at a distance). In addition, some unfinished three-story ruin spoils the landscape nearby. And the road (from Transcarpathia) is a horror in general! Beautiful scenery, but it is impossible to see through the thickets.

The Memorial to the Heroes of the Carpathian Ukraine is located at the crossroads, half a kilometer from the Hungarian monument. And this increases the degree of perception of history from both sides. It so happened that on the eve of the Second World War in these parts of the border guards of the Commonwealth, not without the help of the Hungarian military, shot 600 captured soldiers of the "Carpathian Sichi" The memorial itself is rather modest and its condition leaves much to be desired, but the very presence of such monuments cannot but inspire research into its own history. But the roads in these places do not seem to be monitored. And if from the side of the Lviv region you can still somehow drive, bypassing the pits, then you can only crawl along the Transcarpathian region. You should be patient and pray for the suspension.
