Jewish cemetery

There are very interesting burial sites dating from the 19th century with monuments in the form of a tree trunk with trimmed branches. They have such "trees" of various shapes and sizes - they are found to be about one meter high and two meters high. There are many versions of such a tombstone. One trunk with truncated branches was placed on the tombstones of families where many children died. Also, such a tombstone was erected on the grave of a man whose death ended. But there are graves with such tombstones where the women - both young, unmarried, and married - are buried. For the latter, it is believed that the number of truncated branches indicates the number of dead children. Interestingly, these tombstones are also found in Orthodox and Catholic cemeteries (only in the presence of a Christian cross monument or a five-pointed star). That is, it is not a purely Jewish tradition, or this tradition has passed from one culture to another.
