Gunstock Hill Books is a true gem of a classic antiquarian book shop located near the center or old town Santa Fe walking distance from the Plaza and merely steps from the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum. It is a true treasure trove of fine first editions (many of which signed by the authors) of classic literature and also there is an impressive collection of nonfiction books on the subjects of Western Americana and Native Americana. The owner is very knowledgeable on all the subjects and very helpful. He welcomes browser and makes them feel comfortable. The pricing is very reasonable, considering the great quality. Gunstock Hill Books is highly recommended and a must see for anyone interested in books. The shop is usually open daily between 11 am and 4 pm Monday through Saturday, closed Sunday. If you happen arrive closer to 4 pm the owner usually will accommodate and stay open a bit longer. Quite definitely a 5-star rating for Gunstock Hill Books.

Wonderful antique book store. A lot of first editions, including a first edition Hemingway novel (I forget which). Many of these are signed by the author, a handy sticker denoting all those that are. There are also some very old books, as old as the 1850s -- I found one marked at only $30, but it was both small and not in ideal condition. A well cared for book that old will likely run $90 or more, but they're beautiful books, well worth it.

Beautiful old books, excellent for gifts or research. Make an appointment to enter their magical book world!

If you are looking for that perfect and unique book, stop by this shop and browse an amazing selection. They also can and will be happy to do a book search for you as they did for me and I was so pleased to receive in a short time at a reasonable price a missing book in my collection. Great selection of SW and local Santa Fe, Northern NM books.
